Taught courses include: Ecology of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, Genetics, Evolutionary Biology, Reproduction and developmental biology, Animal behavior, Animal physiology and Histology, Entomology, Parasitology, Hydrobiology, Invertebrate biology, Vertebrate biology, Biostatistics, Research methods, and Communication skills.

Additionally, applied courses like Commercial Entomology, Applied Parasitology, Integrated Pest and Vector management, Aquaculture and Wildlife management are also taught. Our emphasis is on aspects that are directly relevant to the economic developmental needs of Uganda/East Africa. The aim is to improve understanding of animals and their habitats and, cultivate skills in sustainable utilization of animal resources.
